Hi, I’m Christie!

Welcome to the blog! I create simple and flavourful meals with a nutritious twist. You can find me in Toronto with my 3 teen kids, my busy husband and Lady, our adorable cockapoo. I love to think about what to make for dinner, so you don’t have to!

My passion for cooking ignited during my high school years. Food has always held a special place in my heart, but my relationship with it became unhealthy as I struggled with weight gain and the shame associated with it. This led to an eating disorder, and a tumultuous cycle of denying myself, bingeing, and over-exercising.

It was a slow journey of learning to love the nourishing qualities of food. I began to teach myself how to prepare foods from natural sources and to eat intuitively.

Perfection is not the goal

The kitchen became my sanctuary, a place where I could create foods that nourished my body and soul. I also discovered that I loved making meals to share with others.

It took me a while, but I learned the beauty of eating for my body and exercising for my mind. This balance has kept me sane and healthy. I found yoga during a time in my life of extreme stress and anxiety. Yoga has been transformative.
