Welcome to A Lovenote.
A weekly digest where I say hello and share. You’ll find your weekly meal plan + some things you didn’t ask for but might enjoy. I’m so glad you are here!
Happy Long Weekend (US) and to you, wherever you are!
Hello and happy Sunday to you! I hope your weekend is filled with sunsets, pool parties, BBQs and long lazy summer days!
Is anyone else out there feeling like this time of year is a bit of a whirlwind? Maycember is no joke. The race is on to the end of the school year. I feel like my foot has been firmly pressed on the gas pedal for a little too long now!
This weekend we had a beach volleyball tournament for Sadie (in the pouring rain!) and a soccer game for Sully - both in opposite areas of the city, so that was a bit of a juggle. I went to watch my niece’s dance performance (she was beautiful!) and we had a little pre-celebration for Tiggy’s 15th birthday. Her birthday is in June but she will be writing exams on her actual birthday (poor thing!). My sister-in-law, Streisan, flew home from London to surprise my in-laws and it’s always nice to see her. We’re having a big family dinner this evening. And that has been my weekend! What did you get up to?
Cookbook Update: This week, I realized that the recipes for this book are so much more suited to fall vibes. Back to school vibes. Busy weeknight (help me!) vibes. I don’t feel like we are in that mindset right now. Right now, I’m striving for easy, breezy summertime fun vibes. So I’m going to keep working on the cookbook over the summer to ensure that it is the VERY best solution to that back-to-it situation, and I’ll have it ready to go in August. Sound good?
Meanwhile, I’m in my summer era. My mind is moving towards slowing down, farmer’s markets, docktails, writing down my summer bucket list, and pulling out my flip flops. You too? Oh good! Let’s go there together!
What caught my eye this week
LISTENING I listened to the founder of Bloom be interviewed on a podcast and found the story interesting - it’s amazing how so many young people have used social media to create incredible successes. Tiggy is obsessed with Bloom so I was interested when the podcast popped up in my feed and was keen to learn more about it. Tiggy swears it has helped her skin clear up.
And then this article reviewing all the Best Green Drinks came across my feed. Something green is in the air!
BOUGHT this WEEK I am slowing putting away everything winter and moving my closet back to summer. These are the zip-top bags that I use to compress all my heavy sweaters, scarves, socks ….anything really…into tiny little parcels that I can store out of sight until I need them again in the fall.
Do you follow Krista on Instagram? She is my favourite fashion blogger. She hits up thrift stores with wild abandon and I love her style. Her gusto and try-ons are next level. I need to get to the Salvation Army - STAT…..except in reality, I’d get there and be so overwhelmed and would leave empty handed. I wish I could thrift!
Also - this Zimmerman dupe !! Thank you for you kindness when I shared my try-on in my IG stories on Friday. I don’t feel totally comfortable with how exposed ‘the girls’ are in the dress, so I’m sending it back, BUT it had amazing boho vibes and if you think you can pull it off, you SHOULD! The brown colour is quite lovely. If you are shopping in Canada try this link.
Finally, I bought this print for my son’s bathroom. After 10 year, our bathrooms are still builder-grade-basic and need a facelift, but in the meantime, I like to switch up the decor and thought this was sort of perfect for him. Do you like it?
WEARING I wasn’t going to share this just yet because I don’t feel like it’s quite perfect yet, but then I thought, f*ck it. Progress is better than perfection….sooooo…..drum roll please…..I’m creating some super fun hoodies for my LOVESTORY brand. The hoodies are BEYOND comfortable! I love them and will share the designs this week!
COOKING with Cherry Tomatoes! Have you had any lately?! They are delish! Also, I loved this perspective on rediscovering the joy of cooking for one. If cooking for yourself has become a chore, this article might remind you how cooking is the ultimate form of self care.

These easy protein peanut butter and jam cups are the perfect midday treat. Rich and creamy peanut butter center, with a dollop of sweet jam hidden inside, they taste so good you won't even be able to tell these are packed with protein!
