Brie and Pear Salad Skewers

Brie and Pear Salad Skewers

I have yet to meet someone who doesn’t love brie….what’s not to love? It’s soft, it’s rich, it’s not bossy - it gets along with great with so many of its friends….least of whom are pear and arugula.

These Brie and Pear Salad Skewers are beyond easy to make and sure to be a hit at your next gathering.

All you need are 5 ingredients and about 20 minutes of time. If you need to want to make these in advance, I’ve included some tips for doing so below.

Brie and Pear Salad Skewers

Ingredients:

  • 1 wheel of brie cheese

  • 1 pear, I like Anjou, Bosc, or Bartlett varieties

  • 2 cups of Arugula (look for larger leaves. The very small, baby arugula is difficult to thread onto the skewer

  • Balsamic Glaze

  • 1/4 cup chopped walnuts

  • 4” skewers

Directions:

  1. Cut the brie into bite size pieces. Then cut the pear into equal sized pieces.

TIP: I found that leaving the rind on made the skewers a little less sticky to handle!

  2. Take a small skewer, and thread a bundle of arugula, and then a piece of cheese and finally a piece of pear onto it. Place skewer on a serving platter and repeat until all cheese and pears are used up.

TIP: fold the arugula in half to make it a smaller bundle and easier to skewer.

  3. Drizzle with balsamic glaze and walnuts- I pressed a few walnut pieces into the brie.

Can You Make Brie and Pear Salad Skewers in Advance?

Because pears will brown after cutting them, I would recommend making this recipe within 2 hours of serving. Be sure to store the skewers covered in the fridge to help slow the browning process.

Top with walnuts and balsamic glaze just before serving!

Did you make this recipe? How did you like it? I would love to hear your thoughts in the comments below.
