Homemade Baileys (Amber’s Recipe)

Edible gifts are always a favourite and this homemade Bailey's recipe is no exception! I get asked for this again and again!

A perfect gift for an extra kick on your holiday morning

Let me tell you about my friend Amber’s homemade Bailey’s recipe.

Let me start by saying that pouring myself a glass of something special on a holiday morning truly sets the tone for a slow and relaxing day. And for me, there is nothing quite as festive as the smooth and velvety charm of Bailey's Irish Cream. I can’t quite handle a full glass, but a few dollops in my coffee….sign me up!

Amber brought this over to my house a few years back and I’ve been obsessed ever since. It’s one of my favourite edible gifts to whip up during the holiday season. You probably already have the ingredients for this warm and comforting drink on hand. This version is 1000% better than the sickly sweet store-bought version. I’m telling you - the creamy sweetness paired with the sharp whiskey will have you singing Amber’s praises!

Thank you, Amber, for letting me share your recipe. Let’s recreate this liquid gold to gift and to enjoy this year!

Homemade Bailey’s (Amber’s Recipe)

Ingredients:

  • 1 can of sweetened condensed milk (14 oz)

  • 2 cups Half and Half cream

  • 1 cup Whiskey

  • 1 tsp vanilla extract

  • 1 tsp instant coffee granules

Directions:

  1. Combine all ingredients in a blender or a jar with a tight-fitting lid.

  2. Blend or shake to mix well. Chill at least 24 hours before serving.

  3. Store in the refrigerator up to 2 weeks.

If you are gifting this, be sure to tell the recipient to keep it refrigerated.

I love gifting edible presents. Some of my favourites are this recipe (of course), my spiced molasses cookies or my classic spiced nuts. Do you have a favourite item you make year after year? If so, please share! I’d love to hear what you make. I hope you try this recipe. You are going to love it.
