Welcome to A Lovenote.

A weekly digest where I say hello and share. You’ll find things you can cook this week + some things you didn’t ask for but might enjoy. I’m so glad you are here!

What a week over here! Its felt like a year and half. On Thursday, we celebrated Hudson’s life. Hundreds of people attended. Katie, his gorgeous and vulnerable wife spoke about their lovestory and said goodbye to her husband. It was hard. Today is a new day. We will start to pick up the pieces and move along. It is hard. I have so many feelings about our loss. One of the most painful things was watching my son Sully’s heart break. I think I can manage my sadness but watching my children in pain is truly something I will never get over.

But now we move forward. Somehow. We took Sadie back to camp where she is truly at her happiest. We got Tiggy to the airport where she took off with her ski team to train in Chile. She too, is at her happiest on the slopes. Now it’s Fras, Sully and I back home. As I type this, it’s raining. I always think that the rain is the universe’s way of giving us permission to pause. To watch the storm and contemplate. How are you doing? How are you really? What does late August bring for you?

Let’s dive into today’s newsletter…..

What caught my eye this week

WATCHING. The Bear. Obviously I’m loving all the food footage. The family chaos is a little overwhelming but by mid-way through the 1st season, I was hooked!

READING I grabbed Shotgun Lovesongs, by Nickolas Butler on audible. I love listening to a great book or podcast on my daily hikes. I am also reading The Hypnotist Lovestory, by Liane Moriarty. I LOVE Moriarty’s lighthearted style. And right now, I need light hearted.

LISTENING ok ok ok….stay with me on this one. This might be a conversation for another day (or if this is too woo-woo for you, I won’t judge you for tapping out), but I believe that things are put in our path for a reason. I believe that things are set out for us….divined before we set foot on this earth. However, we definitely have the ability to shape them. We can control our own outcomes. Have I lost you? Come back!

While I was driving kilometre after kilometre between Collingwood, Muskoka, Twin Lakes and Toronto this week, I stumbled upon upon the Biohacking Bestie Podcast with Aggie Li (you guys know I’m all about optimizing wellness) BUT, this episode is DIFFERENT. This episode interviews David Ghiyam (who until this week, I’ve never heard of before), where he shares how to attract more positive wisdom, how to be more in tune with your higher self, how things are set out before us and, with faith in the divine/spirit/universe/god (whatever that means to you) we can harness them, and use that knowing to overcome doubt and so much more. I know it’s weird and woo-woo but I’m drawn to this kind of thing. Maybe it’s the yogi in me. Sorry if I lost you there….

SHOPPING This set of cream colanders caught my eye and would be lovely set out on the counter with fresh berries or cherry tomatoes.

This is my kind of fall sweater. Classic and easy.

Do you have a fall party or event to shop for? This dress is beautiful.

How beautiful are these chunky knot earrings?

This racerback workout top has amazing reviews. I need workout tops that actually cover my whole top.

This woven vest would be a perfect transition piece into fall.

A nail polish that strengthens your nails? Yes, please!

I am obsessed with this make up eraser. So soft, easy to clean and your towels won’t get ruined when you wash your face!

SCROLLING @logansfewd This is one viral trend I can totally get behind! 🥒

Also, can we please discuss Ilona Maher? I luuuvvvv her! This post is what did it for me, but she is amazing on every level.

I’ve been using Saran Wrap wrong this whole time. You probably have too. Do you use it this way?

ORGANIZING I shared these amazing storage bags last week. They are a brilliant way help corral everything. They would be the MVP of packing if you are packing up for college or university.

Back to school is legit on the brain. How are you guys holding up out there? Do we need a back-to-school-roundup? Is it too soon? I feel like it’s too soon but the pragmatic part of me needs to be organized.

DRINKING So much water!! With the amount of tears shed this week,

I’m feeling a little dehydrated and am I’m doubling down on hydration.

Nothing has made me feel better than when I started added

Age Quencher HYDRATE into my water. I add a scoop at least once a

day. Sometimes two. I also take the collagen. You can use my code
