Welcome to A Lovenote.
A weekly digest where I say hello and share. You’ll find things you can cook this week + some things you didn’t ask for but might enjoy. I’m so glad you are here!
Happy Sunday my Loves!
If you are here with me in Canada, it is the week before Thanksgiving. I find it a little too early this year. Anyone else? I am not at all prepared. Both my parents and my in-laws are out of town, so our family will be celebrating with siblings, nieces and nephews and a few friends which I feel will be little more casual than normal. I’m here for it. I realized in my savasana on Saturday that I shared any Thanksgiving recipes and I apologize! Instead, I’m sharing my Foolproof Thanksgiving ebook from last year that is timeless, classic and still very-much-perfect for this year! And not in the book but a *must* make is this vegetarian stuffing.
Also, if you are new here, I am SO glad! Hi! I wrote a post to help us get to know each other. Leave me a comment on the blog and share a bit about yourself so we can be BFFs!
My 7-Day Meals for Menopause ebook/guide comes out this week. It’s a 62 page guide where I’ve outlined all the things I have learned and done over the last 8 years of menopause/perimenopause to help me feel like myself again. If you aren’t yet on the waitlist to be notified when the ebook is available, you can join here.
And lastly, we have only a few rooms left at the ‘Pause Effect Retreat on October 25-27 so if this is something you’ve been dreaming of, please reach out! This retreat is magic ✨. I truly believe that the reason I went through early on-set menopause was to share my learnings, growth and wisdom with you all. We have such an incredible program designed with you in mind. The retreat is all about connection, belonging, learning, and growing together—sharing to lift each other up.
You can find out more about this retreat here.
Let’s dive into today’s newsletter, shall we?
What caught my eye this week
WATCHING Fras and I have binged Nobody Wants This. It’s romcom gold — an emotionally available, kind, hot rabbi meets an oversharing podcaster at a party and hilarity and off-the-charts chemistry ensue. That first kiss!!!!!
Also Kaos - all 3 of my kids loved the Percy Jackson series and thus I now know so much more about Greek mythology. I love to see the recreation.
READING I just finished God of the Woods, by Liz Moore and loved it! A little bit family dysfunction, a little classism and some generational trauma. I loved the way the story flowed and couldn’t put it down. Highly recommend.
Next up for me is The Woman, by Kristin Hannah. I have heard from so many that this book has been their favourite of 2024 and I’m so excited to dive in!
Did you know that black mascara is apparently dead? Who knew? Apparently my daughter because she bought this for me and I’ve been wearing it all summer and LOVE it!
Learn more about what happens to our skin in perimenopause when estrogen levels start to drop.
PONDERING I was so sorry to hear about those affected by Helene in North Carolina. It’s just unbelievable. Here is how you can help.
Tomorrow marks 365 grim days since the October 7th attack on Isreal. It’s been a long year of strife and my heart goes out to everyone who has family in the Middle East. I think this story about Vivian Silver is important.
SHOPPING I really like this sweater. It’s very simple and kind of perfect.
This Harris/Waltz pin is too fun not to share!
I can’t wait for these mittens to arrive!
I needed something to organize my supplements into morning and evening and a case where I could take one day of pills out without toting the whole thing with me when we go back and forth to the ski cabin. And I found it. On Amazon. For less than $20! pill organizer
Creamy Turkey Chili
Put this one on the list for those leftovers after Thanksgiving! You will love how turkey can be reimagined in this bright and flavourful soup/chili.
Christie’s Go-To Chili
Chili is classic comfort food and everyone should have a recipe that they can whip up easily and quickly This version is made with mostly simple pantry ingredients and things you would have on hand. Trust me on this one: your family will love it!
Chicken Tikka Masala Stew
This rich and aromatic Chicken Tikka Masala Stew is just as good as you’ll get at any Indian restaurant! This recipe is a take on the authentic and popular Indian dish but made simply at home, all in one pot.

Sometimes we think it's the big moments that shape our happiness, but it's really the little things we do every day that make the biggest impact.✨
It's the quiet cup of coffee, the walk in the fresh air, or that small moment of kindness.
Don’t underestimate the power of these simple, ordinary wins—they add up to something extraordinary.
