I first published this recipe when I discovered the secret to the ooey-est, gooey-eat marshmellows. I have finally cracked the code on how to make this iconic treat so that they stay gooey and chewy, with the right amount of airy crunch!

Gooey Rice Krispie Treats
Ingredients:
1/2 cup of salted butter
1/2 cup sweetened condensed milk
pinch of salt
1 tsp vanilla extract
1 bag of marshmallows
4-5 cups Rice Krispie cereal
Optional Add-ins:
Halloween themed sprinkles, candy eyeballs, candy corn
Christmas themed sparkles, jellies
Birthday themed sprinkles
Directions:
Lightly grease a 9 x 13 baking dish - the foil from your butter is perfect for this!
In a large pot, melt butter until almost melted and bubbly.
Add sweetened condensed milk, and stir in the vanilla extract and the pinch of salt.
Add the marshmallows, and stir until completely melted.
Remove from heat and add rice krispy cereal. Stir to mix well. Fold through the mini-marshmallows, if using.
Pour into a lightly greased baking dish and gently press down with damp hands into the dish.
Allow the Rice Krispies to set for 30-45 mins before cutting into it. Enjoy every last morsel!
