Simple Peaches and Cream Parfaits

fresh and juicy peaches, tossed in vanilla and sugar and layered in a glass serving bowl with homemade whipped cream.

I can’t quite pinpoint what it is about peaches that makes me love them so much. Perhaps it’s the fleeting nature of summer, urging me to savour every last juicy moment, much like how brief peach season is. There’s truly nothing quite like it.

So here I am, returning with another peach recipe: Peaches and Cream Parfaits. This classic dessert is a love letter to the beauty of simplicity, and to peaches in their pure, uncomplicated form.

Freshly sliced juicy summer peaches in a white bowl

What do I need to make Simple Peaches and Cream?

Fresh peaches - I don’t bother peeling mine, but you can if you wish!

Sugar - I used white, granulated sugar. But brown sugar would work in a pinch.

Pure Vanilla Extract - Don’t skimp on this - it makes this dish a little more

Whipping Cream - if you follow a non-dairy diet, you can sub in coconut cream.

Powdered sugar - to sweeten the cream. If you don’t have this on hand, feel free to sub in the granulated sugar.

This combo is simply irresistible. The juicy peach nectar when paired with the sweet cream is something I could eat each and every day until the end of peach season. You are going to love this 10 minute dessert!

Simple Peaches and Cream

Salad Ingredients:

  • 4 ripe peaches, sliced (peeled if you like)

  • 1/3 cup sugar

  • 1 tsp pure vanilla extract (divided)

  • 11/2 cup heavy whipping cream (35%)

  • 1/3 cup powdered sugar

Directions:

  1. Into a bowl, slice your fresh peaches, peeling, if desired. Add in the 1/3 cup sugar and 1/2 tsp vanilla. Mix gently to combine. Set a side.

  2. In a separate bowl, pour in the heavy cream. Add in the remaining vanilla and the powdered sugar. Using your electric handheld mixer, mix until soft peaks form.

  3. In your serving dish, layer a spoonful of the cream, followed by a spoonful of the sliced peaches and the syrup. Repeat until the serving dish is full or until you are satisfied.

    Serve and enjoy!
