Bursting with better-than-take-out flavours, this salad is easy to make, has a brilliant balance of warm, cool, tangy and heat and is a healthy alternative to ordering take-out! And, it’s ready in no more than 15 minutes!

Why this Viral Dumpling Salad Works:

This salad combines the irresistible charm of frozen dumplings (or potstickers or gyoza….whatever you like to call them!) with a vibrant medley of fresh vegetables including sweet mini peppers, crunchy cucumbers, and more. Each bite bursts with fresh cilantro, the crunch of the cool veggies and that mouthwatering dressing that is both rich and bright.

This salad makes the easiest and best summer dinner when you truly don’t know what to make!

Hetty McKinnon was the OG creator of this Dumpling Salad but it has since been rebranded all over the internet with so many variations. That is the best part about this salad! You can use any type of veggie you have on hand. From grated carrots, boil edamame, cherry tomatoes, even corn! The options are endless! You an also make this salad vegan or vegetarian by choosing a vegan dumpling option.

Viral Dumpling Salad

Ingredients:

  • 1 1/25-6 mini peppers, thinly sliced

  • 1 cup cucumbers, thinly sliced and halved

  • 1 lb frozen pot sticker dumplings (not thawed, cook from frozen)

  • 1/3 cup fresh cilantro, basil or mint

  • Optional : Sesame seeds for garnish

    For the Dressing: 

  • 1 tbsp chili crisp (more if you like it spicy)

  • 1 tbsp soy sauce

  • 2 tsp rice vinegar

  • 1 garlic clove grated/minced

  • 1 tsp ginger, grated/minced

  • 1 tsp honey

Directions:

  1. Whisk together the vinaigrette ingredients and set aside.

  2. Pan fry the dumplings according to package directions.  

  3. Meanwhile, assemble the vegetables into a bowl.   When the dumplings are cooked through, toss everything together.  Garnish with sesame seeds and dig in!
