Hot Honey Brussels Sprouts

pan seared brussels sprouts with lemon and hot honey

Hot Honey Brussels Sprouts

Ingredients:

  • 1 lb of Brussels sprouts, trimmed and quartered

  • 2 tbsp neutral oil (such as avocado oil)

  • 1 tsp kosher/sea salt

  • 1/4 cup honey

  • 3/4 tsp crushed red pepper flakes (or more to taste!)

  • 1 tsp garlic, minced

  • 1/2 lemon, juiced + zest for garnish

Directions:

  1. Slice the Brussels sprouts into quarters.

  2. Heat the oil in a skillet over high heat. Add in the Brussels sprouts and resist moving them for about 3 minutes - allow them to form a char.

  3. After a char has formed, push all the sprouts to one side of the skillet. In the space you’ve created, add another drizzle of oil, the red pepper flakes, garlic, honey and lemon juice.

  4. Toss the Brussels sprouts in the glaze until well coated and continue cooking until the sprouts soften to your liking.

  5. Transfer the Brussels Sprouts to a large bowl. Garnish with lemon zest and a sprinkle of salt.

    Enjoy!!
